I May Be Some Time tells the story of a doomed polar expedition, with each track name being inspired by quotes from explorers who perished at the South Pole or details from their biographies. The album title itself commemorates the last words of Captain Oates, “I am just going outside and may be some time.” Fearing that his frostbite and gangrene was jeopardising his companions’ chances of survival, Oates uttered this phrase before walking outside into a blizzard and certain death.

This album was composed by Million Moons' Edward Thompson, produced by Lewis Johns (Employed to Serve, Svalbard, Rolo Tomassi) and recorded at The Ranch in Southampton. The album art was created by Herm the Younger and is a photorealistic collage made of archive photos from real polar expeditions.
